The State Bar Collaborative Law Spring Conference will be on March 2-3, 2017, at the Dallas Westin Galleria hotel. Course Directors Julie Quaid and Rhonda Cleaves are delighted to highlight two esteemed keynote speakers:
Dr. Donna Hicks, working at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University and author of Dignity: The Role it Plays in Resolving Conflict, will share her definition of dignity – what it is and what it is not; the basic elements of dignity; and how to apply these concepts to our collaborative law cases and conflict resolution. Dr. Hicks has worked for over 20 years as an international conflicts facilitator, having helped resolve conflicts in the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Cuba, Northern Ireland and the United States. She currently works with leaders in business, health care, government, and education to create cultures that foster innovation and dignified human relationships.
Brother Curtis Almquist is a monk with The Society of Saint John the Evangelist monastery in Boston and has worked with and trained attorneys on numerous matters beneficial to their personal and professional development. Brother Curtis will share his perspectives regarding the obstacles and opportunities associated with being authentically present as a client advocate while listening to the needs of all clients in the collaborative process as well as the needs of our collaborative team members.
In addition to these outstanding keynote speakers, several Collaborative Divorce Texas members will present various topics – to help you create new and enhance existing skills. We will also reflect on the past during our 10th anniversary collaborative law course. Don’t miss thought provoking presentations by Kevin Fuller, Scott Clarke, Linda Solomon, Jack Emmott, Kristen Algert, Jennifer Tull, Lindsay Cooper and others.
