How can we get more collaborative cases? This is by far the most important question for collaborative practitioners around the state. We love what we do and want to bring this revolutionary divorce process to more families who need it. But, how to do this? The leadership of Collaborative Divorce Texas determined that we should have an updated website, marketing plan, and a credentialing program to distinguish the collaborative professionals who are experienced and dedicated to our craft.
Guess what? It works.
In late March, shortly after the newly credentialed members of Collaborative Divorce Texas had their badges installed on their website profiles, I met with a prospective divorce client. I always ask how they found out about collaborative divorce and how they found me. This is the best way to know which marketing is working. She said that her husband told her about the collaborative process, and she found me on “the website.” Our local group also has a website, so I asked more questions. She had used the Collaborative Divorce Texas website where she did a search and picked me because she “wanted somebody who really knew what she was doing.” She specifically mentioned that I was credentialed, and that made the difference. Bingo.
Many thanks to Tim Crouch, The Crouch Group, and all the Collaborative Divorce Texas board members who put in the long hours to make the new website and credentialing a reality.
Next, I need to find out how the husband learned about collaborative divorce!
