JUST ROLL WITH IT: Recognizing & Responding to Resistance.
Resistance to change comes up in our work often. As clients discover they must make changes, avoidance, defensiveness, or confrontation can occur. Recognizing resistance behavior and underlying motivations helps to identify best approaches to responding to unwilling clients. Learning to “roll with resistance” effectively creates cooperation between professionals and clients for eliciting change and making agreements.
