Marketing 101 #DivorceDifferently

March 15, 2017 By CD Texas Staff - t.c. Leave a Comment

This year's Spring Conference featured a lot of great news about the growth of collaborative in Texas over the past year. It also featured the launch of a new initiative to use #DivorceDifferently in social media posts related to Collaborative Divorce in Texas. But for many people any discussion of using hashtags might as well be in a foreign language.

So, what is this hashtag (#) and why should anyone care?

Let start with what is a hashtag? A hashtag is the pound or number sign. The use of hashtags came to being as a way to organize content on Twitter. The hashtag allows users to read posts and content that are about the same subject. Facebook later recognized the value and began to allow users to use hashtags as well.

During Spring Conference 2017, attendees began posting pictures and content from the conference.   That content is viewable on the Collaborative Divorce Texas Member’s Facebook page. New CDT member Jessica Perroni from McKinney wrote these rap lyrics during the conference and tagged it #DivorceDifferently.

#DivorceDifferently

Yo, lawyers, mental health professionals and financial experts, lets kick it!

Collaborate and Listen,
the Texas Bar is back with some education,
the coffee is pouring ever so gladly,
I'll listen to the speakers daily and rightly,
When will it stop?
Probably at 5 o'clock,
But then my practice will grow,
To the extreme I can rock a courtroom without the scandal,
But now I'm helping divorce with a different handle.

All our clients' problems?
Yo, we'll solve it!
Check out Collaborative Divorce while we evolve it!

One of the keys to building the Collaborative Divorce Brand in Texas is to speak the language of the people. The use of hashtags in posts is about speaking the right language. It may seem like a foreign language to those that are not active on social media, but the truth about marketing in 2017 is that social media is where many of your clients are getting information and living their lives. Using the #hashtag helps to spread the word. So, in your posts about collaborative divorce use #DivorceDifferently. This one way that every collaborative professional can be a part of spreading the word and make Collaborative the preferred method of divorce in Texas.
