Credentialing Application Deadline September 30th

September 18, 2018 By Carol Mapp Leave a Comment

master credentialedThe application deadline for the 2019 Credentialing class is September 30th. There are many benefits to receiving this designation as a Collaborative professional. Fort Worth MHP, Carol Mapp, shares why she decided to pursue being Master Credentialed.

Why I Wanted To Be Master Credentialed

Master Credentialing demonstrates significant achievements beyond the mandatory training requirements to be a collaborative professional.  Master Credentialing status conveys that this is an individual who has gone above and beyond expectations for their discipline whether it be a financial or mental health practitioner or attorney.  Credentialed professionals are recognized as having in-depth knowledge, proven collaborative experience, leadership capacity, competence, and dedication to the collaborative divorce process.

I care deeply about promoting CDT members’ professional identity and place a high premium on continuing education and ongoing development of the professional expertise of our members.  A credentialed professional strengthens their profession and improves the collaborative experience.

I decided to earn the Master Credentialed designation for two reasons:  credibility and competition.

Although collaborative professionals need a wide array of technical skills, nothing is more critical to the collaborative process than credibility.  Credibility is the cornerstone of this process.  A credible individual is viewed as trustworthy, knowledgeable, and invokes goodwill with clients.  Credibility informs reputation.  A strong reputation increases trust and confidence of a client and can have a direct and profound effect on a his/her divorce experience.

I enjoy competing against myself.  I move forward and evaluate myself based on meaningful things such as client outcome, client preference, and support for collaborative divorce as a more viable option than litigation.  Being competitive drives me to improve performance, increase accountability, and improve the success of the collaborative process.  Master certification in collaborative divorce shows attainment of high standards and service to my clients.

The success of collaborative divorce process depends on the delivery of quality services through the efforts of highly trained professionals.  Being credible and competitive in this arena by maintaining a positive reputation is essential to changing the perception of divorce in Texas.  I encourage all collaborative professionals to take the time to become credentialed and a commitment to the belief that collaborative as the preferred means of divorce in Texas.
