Happy 2023! It’s a new year and for many, a time for new goals. For me, it’s a renewed commitment to prior goals – growing our Collaborative Divorce Texas membership and increasing awareness of this amazing process in the greater public. Will you join me and make this renewed commitment?
Since I began my tenure as President of CDT in June, I have asked you to join me in completing monthly tasks that would help us to grow the organization. Many of those monthly tasks have been to lay the groundwork for my ask this month:
Recruit a New Member AND tell them about SBOT Collaborative Law Conference
If you’ve hung in there with me and completed the challenges I’ve given you, this month’s challenge may not be as hard as one might think. In past months, I have asked you to have coffee or lunch with an attorney unfamiliar with Collaborative (August); invite two potential members to our amazing Lunch and Learn series (September); and have coffee or lunch with an MHP unfamiliar with Collaborative (October). (Not to worry, FP’s are coming!) Now go to those professionals and encourage them to join the organization by reminding them about the benefits of being a member:
- Free CLE/CE with our Lunch and Learn series (7 to 8 hour-long CLE/CE’s each year) – This more than pays for the cost of membership. Non-members are charged $100 for each session. That’s a $700 to $800 value!
- Access to forms that make for easier navigation through the Collaborative process.
- Discounts on CDT training and SBOT Collaborative Conference registration. (More savings to your pocketbook!)
- Detailed online profiles that drive potential clients to you.
- Access to the CDT Credentialing and Master Credentialing program that provides enhanced credibility to your public profile for those clients looking for Collaborative professionals.
- Access to marketing tools to help grow your Collaborative practice.
- Participation in a community of like-minded professionals working to make Collaborative the preferred method of divorce in Texas.
And while you’re at it, be sure to tell your new recruit about the upcoming State Bar/CDT Collaborative Law Conference scheduled for March 30 and 31. It’s my favorite CLE to attend all year. Not only do we learn incredibly helpful information to help us in our Collaborative cases, but it’s also a great time to connect with our Collaborative colleagues from around the state and share ideas to build our respective Collaborative practices. Don’t forget. It takes a village – and you are an important part of this village. Let’s get out there and grow our village!
